We at Sticks and Stone pride ourselves on designing and creating rustic luxury furniture from ethically sourced and harvested materials found locally. We specialise in solid wood furniture including candlesticks, benches, coffee tables and wine racks. All of our pieces are completely unique and made by hand in our Cotswold based workshop. Our Passion
We love wood! We do, we’re obsessed by it. Its beauty, its character, its stubbiness. We also love making people happy, therefore we have made it our mission to give unwanted or forgotten wood a new life in the form of a beautiful wine rack or furniture item so their beauty can appreciated once again.
Our Wood
Ethical,Traceable, Characterful , Unique
All our timber is sourced locally to our Cotswold based workshop. We use a range of ethical sources ensure our wood is not only beautiful but guilt free. Our company has very close links with a local tree surgeon who supplies the majority of our new timber from “problem” trees i.e. those trees that for either safety or structural reason are causing a danger to the public and therefore need to be removed. In addition we also use a range of reclamation yards that specialise in the salvage of beams to source all our reclaimed timber. We do this because we only use beams which can be traced back to the source as we always like to know what our wood was before we bring it back to life.
New timber is then stored in our workshop where it is partially seasoned before being worked on. However, the delight of our creations is that they will warp and change as they age and adapt to their surroundings. To an extent we see splits and other changes as part of the beauty of owning a piece of our functional art.
We believe wood is for wine, not for worms therefore all our wood is fully treated with insecticides to protect them against woodworm and fungi. Each type and piece of wood is different making your finished item truly unique.
